Before you start
8 questionsIs my level enough for this program?
If you can build sentences but slow down when speaking, and you compose in Turkish and translate in your head, the program is built for exactly that; in technical terms, B1 and up. If you are unsure, write to me on WhatsApp and we look at it together on a short call.
I want to learn English from scratch. Can I join?
Let me be straight: no. The program is built on speaking practice; basic grammar and vocabulary need to come first. Once you are past that stage, I am here.
My grammar is weak. Should I study grammar first?
If you can build sentences, there is no need. I catch grammar mistakes while you speak and fix them inside the sentence. Grammar comes up only as far as it blocks your speaking; it is not the syllabus itself.
Do you teach children?
The program is for adults and high-school age and up; it is not suitable for younger learners.
Which accent will I learn?
American English. I spent ten years in Maryland, Indiana and Ohio. Our pronunciation work focuses on American English: flap T, linking sounds, dropped syllables and sentence rhythm.
How long is the intro call, and does it cost anything?
It is free and takes 15 minutes. We talk about your level and your goal, and I answer your questions. You do not need an account or anything installed; a message on WhatsApp is enough.
How do we set my lesson times?
We can discuss days and times that work for both of us in the intro call. Once you have registered and paid, we confirm your weekly schedule together. We meet at the same times each week, taking your time zone into account if you live abroad.
What happens when you are full?
Because I work one-on-one, I can take a limited number of students at a time. While I am full you cannot buy a package; you join the waitlist instead, and I let people know in order as spots open.
Lessons and the portal
9 questionsAre the lessons entirely in English?
Yes, I do not switch to Turkish in a lesson. Whoever you will be facing out there (a client, an interviewer, a landlord) I play that role in English; the point is to rehearse it here before you need it outside.
How do I join a lesson, and what do I need?
You are not hunting for a link. The moment I start the lesson, a bar appears wherever you are on the site and you join with one click. Nothing to install, a browser is enough; the sheets, the words and the call are all in one place.
Can I join from my phone?
Yes. The lesson room works on a phone too. In most call apps you see either the content or the other person’s face; here both sit on the same screen and you do not have to switch between them.
What do I have after a lesson ends?
That lesson’s page. It holds the questions we actually talked through that day, the corrections we made, and your homework. The notes you took yourself during the lesson collect on your Notes page.
Do you give homework?
Yes. At the end of every lesson I leave a piece of homework tied to that day’s topic; it waits for you on your lesson page. When you hand it in, I read it and write back.
Can you read my own notes?
No. Your notebook is locked to you alone. What you write in the exercises I do see during the lesson, but that is not hidden monitoring: it is visible on your screen as you write it.
Can I reach you between lessons?
Yes. Outside lessons you can write to me directly on WhatsApp. For a question on your mind, or an email you want a second look at before sending, you do not have to wait for your lesson time.
What if I miss a session or need to reschedule?
Give me at least 24 hours’ notice and we move the session to another time in the same week. You get one reschedule for every 4 sessions in the package: 3 in a 12-session package. A session canceled later than that, or missed without notice, counts as delivered, because that hour was reserved for you. For illness and the like you can reschedule once a year without it counting against your allowance, and if I have to reschedule, your allowance stays untouched.
I live abroad. Are time zones a problem?
Not at all. We settle your time zone when we set the schedule; your lessons are fixed to your own local time.
Packages and payment
6 questionsHow the pricing works
The total and the price per lesson depend on the package you choose. The pricing page shows each package’s lesson count, total and price per lesson. The payment provider’s fee is included in the card price; bank transfer and card prices are shown separately.
Why are the bank transfer and card prices different?
Card payments carry a fee from the payment provider. Instead of spreading that cost across all prices, I reflect it only on the card price; that is why bank transfer is always cheaper.
How long does a package take, and does it expire?
Your package covers the number of lessons shown on its card. We plan to complete them in about four weeks at your chosen weekly frequency. Unused lessons can carry over; your package has no expiry date. Late cancellations and lessons missed without notice count as delivered. You get one reschedule for every four lessons. When your package ends, you choose whether to buy another; there is no automatic renewal.
Can I upgrade my package mid-month?
Not always; we can do it if a slot opens up in the calendar. That is why the package you pick at the start matters. Because packages are monthly, you can raise or lower the pace with your next one.
Can I get an invoice?
An invoice is issued for every payment; that is a legal requirement here. You enter your invoicing details at checkout. All of your invoices sit in the student portal, where you can view and download them.
How do refunds and withdrawal work?
You have 14 days to withdraw from the date of purchase. If no session has taken place, I refund everything; if sessions have taken place, their price is deducted and the rest is refunded. Details are on the Cancellation & Refunds page.
